Retro & Autumn Makeup: Beauties On Fire!

Hey guys,

As promised, today I am bringing you two looks based on the themes: Retro & Fall. Although I've changed it to Autumn, just because. If you want to read Elisabeth's post you can HERE and also find everyone else amazing posts!

So last week you guys voted for Retro, and honestly I didn't initially know what to do for this as 'Classic Beauty' has been a past theme. Which, personally I would say are very similar. However I googled 'Retro makeup' and saw that a lot of bold cut creases came up. When I say bold, I mean pink and yellow. Which honestly is amazing and reminds me of ice-cream,  I don't think it gets better than that!

I tried my first ever cut crease, obviously I didn't really go to plan. I will an image I find on Google so that you guys who don't know what I'm talking to understand but, To achieve the sharper cut, I would need to put A LOT of concealer on. Whether I am doing it wrong or using the techniques I don't know. I think you need a thick concealer and that is something I don't have. Next time I go for a make up splurge, I am going to see if there are any cream eyeshadows that would work instead of using concealer. Also this way, it doesn't look cakey on your lids. I will update this post (if I remember) with a second lot of images if it works out!

I will include a picture from my first try so that maybe you guys can tell  me if I did something wrong. For some reason my concealer just wasn't making it better. I just used a bright pink eyeshadow but you can use what you like.

Autumn:

Now this theme I love! The end of the year is the best in my opinion. I much prefer the cold than heat, snuggling than sweating. And for this theme I thought to do a classic autumnal look. Reds, plums, browns. oranges, etc. Like usual, I'm not going into detail but hopefully the images make up for it. Please comment if you guys prefer me walking through the process or just leaving inspiration with the products because I'd love to know.

The palettes I used were Make Up Revolution, 'Fortune favours the brave' and 'Eyes Like Angles'.
I used the lighter brown shade and made my way up to a darker brown in the corners, also adding the purple that is in the palette. By saying the actual colours I think this will benefit you more as you can use what you have that's similar. Just clearing that up.
For under the lash line, I really wanted to channel Autumn, so I used the orange shade from the Eyes Like Angels palette. I love how this looked! I was a bit unsure at first because I thought a matte orange would work better (as this shade has a little shimmer) but I was wrong. It really works. You could even try and find an orange pencil/kohl eyeliner for the water line and smudge this out too. I think that would also work.

Obviously I used my Bourjois 'Plum Plum Girl' lipstick. But you could also use a nude, brown or even more of a deeper red. Any would work.

If you are interested in what else is on my face such as foundation and such, you will find t on one of the previous B.O.F posts.

If you want to catch up here are the links:

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, again I don't really go into anything but by including photos I hope that it just gives you inspiration on makeup looks. I'm in no way saying I'm an expert but I mean, not the worst haha!

Emojis I think should exist.

Hey guys,

So first off, I know I normally post a #BeautiesOnFire post on Thursdays, but it's getting more tough because of college. But I am determined to keep this up. So this coming Thursday/Friday I will post like usual but include the one I have missed. Like a double post if you like. Okay, good!

As you can tell from this title, I am going to tell you guys a few emoji's that I think should exist. I probably wont end up with much but I will give it a go.

1. Obviously a black heart. I know this is wanted by a fair few people and I am totally with them on it! There's even a Stooshe song, 'Black Heart' so I think that is a good excuse. I also would LOVE a white heart but I'm not sure if that would be as good as the rest as it would probably have an outline so it stands out of the background. But who knows, maybe they could make it work.

2. The second one I think should exist, is a version of the nail painting hands but black. I just like the colour black okay?! Seriously though, I think this would be so cool for those of us who watch PLL. I mean, I know in the intro, they paint the nails pink which is already the emoji. But, I would associate the black more with PLL. I have no idea why, maybe it's linked to the Halloween episodes. I just think it would be so badass. That is all.

3. Another Emoji I would love is one with a raised eyebrow. I always raise my eyebrow, whether it's in photos (I don't know why), or because I'm confused, disgusted and so on. There's lots of reasons why this should already be out there. I know for sure this would be one of my most used.

4. I also think one with their head resting in their hands as if to say 'Oh god'. I cant explain it well but like they're fed up. I think this would be amazing. We would finally have something that responds well to memes, or any ridiculous thing you see online - I personally am all for memes haha!

5. Okay, one emoji I have been waiting for is a bat emoji. I have a headband with bat wings on and I love it. But no bat emoji. I couldn't express my love to its full potential. I kid obviously, but I think a bat emoji would be cool for Halloween.

6. I may be biased but I definitely think there should be a can emoji. The thing that I drink most is probably Coke. I don't even know why I said probably, if you know me, I only really drink coke. Not healthy I know, but I love it:). Any way, I'd love there to be an emoji for all of us who don't drink hot drinks.

7. Finally I think there should be one where someone is sat up wrapped in their quilt. Like a human burrito, because who doesn't do this?! I would probably use this a hell of a lot too. Oh well.

That's all I can think of that I would actually use. But if you have any you would love to have, tell me in the comments because I'd love to know! Again sorry for not uploading on Thursday but I hope it will get back on track very soon. I hope you all have a badass week and all.

Christmas is aproaching! (Sorry!)

Hey guys,

Please don't hate me. I know a lot of people put off the idea of the 'C' word until December, but I'm afraid it is approaching! Its actually less than a 100 sleeps now so buckle up!

I started my Christmas shopping late last month. I have two presents so far. Which I know obviously isn't a lot but I'm doing it gradually so that I still have some pocket money left. Because I'm still a human and quite selfish!

But honestly I am so excited for Halloween and Christmas. And then my birthday, oh my gosh! How come the end of the year, seems to go by so quickly?! For all you Christmas 'avoiders' I suggest you start shopping now before it becomes even closer and the shops become more full of people. Personally I hate being pushed around shops.

Also, last year I did 12 days of blogmas, do you guys want me to do that again this year? maybe even the whole 24 days? Let me know in the comments because I would love to do it again!

Despite listening to Christmas songs, this past week was also my first week at college. And its been amazing. So far, everyone on my course seems so lovely. But it is so weird being one of the older ones this year. However I do actually feel like I fit in more with the group. I mean I am getting more confident and I can see it which is so nice but at the minute I am still quite 'reserved' shall we say. But I am enjoying so its all good.

On Friday it was the 'Big Hello'. Which I think just gives the new students a few hours to venture around the campus and get used to the people and such. They have someone come in, a 'minor celebrity' if you will. Someone we will all know. Last year it was someone from The Only Way Is Essex and this year it was Stuggy. He makes funny videos, for Facebook, vine and YouTube and honestly, I love him. I think he's absolutely hilarious! And I actually got a photo. He went on a 'Bucking bronco' but a sheep which was funny! It was amazing. I will leave a photo below.

I know this post has been a bit all over the place but I have planned next weeks post so it will be better, I promise. I just thought I would put it out there that I feel great lately. I love it. And I hope you are all feeling good too.

Back to school: Beauties On Fire!

Hey guys,

Another Thursday which means, another #BeautiesOnFire post! I hope you are all loving this collab. I know I am! There are some really lovely ladies and you should all check them out! (you can find them in the link-up). This weeks theme is 'Back To School' so I guess it actually is appropriate. If you didn't get a chance to read my last beauties on fire post with a 'Villians' makeup look, click here.
Also click here to go read Elisabeth's post and to also find the link up.

Okay, so I know the logical thing for me to do, would be to do more of a 'Back To College' look, but I chose to do it on school instead. This is just because well, it is the theme after all. And, I like to have a full wing and everything for college but if you are at school or just less experienced, then I want to help you out. I decided on a very easy, simple and neutral look as this will probably suit a lot of people.

The Face Products:
Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer
Maybelline FIT Me Foundation
Maybelline Age Rewind concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte powder
Maybelline Master Sculpt duo
Sleek Solstice highlighting palette

Eye Products:
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer
Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave Palette
Maybelline Master Ink eyeliner - Black
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara

Soap & Glory Archery DIY Brow Bar

Lip product:
Maybelline Colour sensational matte 'Nude Embrace/930'

The eyes:
For a transition shade/crease shade I used 'Latte' and blended this out. I added 'Caffeine Fix' to the outter third of the eye and slightly into the crease (just below 'Latte'). This just deepens the eye a little. I then put 'Crème' all over the lid but less where I added 'Caffeine Fix'. This works as a base for the shimmery shade 'Sunset Hour'. I love these together, I think it is absolutely stunning yet simple which is always nice. I didn't create a wing, although I did sometimes where a wing eyeliner to school but I decided not to today. However I added a little bit of liner across the lid and ending with just a slight flick so it looked pretty neat. This just makes it look 'more' in my opinion, if you even understand where I am coming from.
I didn't add any pencil liner but you could. You could even use a colour of your choice just to add something else to the look.

(Woah, bit close eh?)

I think everything else is self explanatory so I will leave this here, I hope you guys liked this look as much as I do. Let me know in the comments if you where makeup to school, or whether you just have more sleep, because I know I always had to chose and mainly chose sleep! haha.
I hope you are all settling in well, whether you are in a new school, new year of school, college, University. Anything. I hope it's going great. Also remember that I post on a Sunday too, so if you missed it, heres last weeks post: Good Ol' Update!

Good ol' Update!

Hey guys,

I hope you are all well.
I know most of you would've gone back to school/sixth form this past week, so I hope it hasn't been to hard to get back into the swing of things.

Tomorrow I go back to college and honestly, I am absolutely dreading it.  This time last year I was so ready to move on up to college. I was happy with the course and the people I had already met from induction. However this year isn't the same. I am really not feeling it. I have chosen to do Art this year as I like to draw/paint/craft whatever. But I think I made the wrong decision.

Now I don't even know how to go about it. I kind of want to do something more. I mean I know obviously it does take a lot of effort to do art and that but I'm not sure I would want to do art as a full time job. I am stressing so much. And I seem to be the only one, everyone is just getting on with it, knowing what they want and such. Whereas I have no bloody clue.

I thought about becoming a nurse or something surrounding that but isn't it too late now? I probably would have needed sixth form or something (honestly not really researched this) so I would be a year late. And honestly, I never 'loved' the school schedule or setting so I would hate it. I have no idea as to what I want or even how I would get there. I don't want to waste a year at college if I don't think it will impact my future. If I don't get on with art I would either try and do level 3 creative media (following on from last year), maybe makeup or get an apprenticeship. I might look good in overalls, maybe I'll become an engineer.

Despite feeling like my head is going to explode, On Friday I went into town with my sister. I really enjoyed it. It was like I was actually an adult going shopping with my sister. Not just being the annoying tag along. I saved up my points on subway so I could treat Samantha, as she doesn't really have chance to eat there. It was just such a lovely day, so thank you Samantha, if you're reading this.

Obviously I bought something. Okay, maybe a couple of things. Compared to normal, I actually didn't spend as much as I normally would, so its nice to know my bank account isn't crying.

I bought two things from New Look. A pink wrap style top, and a Khaki cap. I actually am on the hunt for lots of new clothes, as all of a sudden I don't feel comfortable in the current clothes I own. Either that or they're just not my style anymore. I will include pictures.

This is the best I could do. (Sorry)

I bought body wash and such but no need to mention them.

Friday was a nice distraction from stress but it all came back when I got home, and it hasn't really stopped yet. Hopefully next weeks post will be a bit more positive. Fingers crossed. I hope you guys have a great week whether you're in education or employed, whatever.

Villan Makeup: Beauties On Fire!

Hey guys,

I know, I know. I'm a day late again. To be honest, I just totally forgot what day it was yesterday, I knew I had something to do but couldn't figure it out. Anyway, You guys voted for 'Superhero/Villain' to be this weeks theme and I debated what I could possibly do for this but I wanted to be more adventurous I guess. Well  don't know what to call it.

Any who, I thought I would do Ursula. As a child she used to scare me just a little bit, and because I loved the Little mermaid I watched it a fair few times so I just dealt with it.

But I thought I could do a hell of a lot for this look so I thought necessary.

Again as always, this is mainly for inspiration so there's no real need to walk through what I have done. I try my best to have clear images so that you can see how I created the look.

But I must say that the shadow is a lot easier to blend if you used a base colour, then add blue on the lid and then blend the purple in the crease. Also using your base shade on the edges so the colour blends well. I tried starting with purple on the second eye as this is what I would normally do but this - for me - didn't blend as easily. Just a heads up.

The products I used:
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer.
Makeup revolution 'Fortune Favours The Brave' - shade 'creme'.
The Original Sleek palette (594) - Light blue, purple and black shade.
NYX White Liquid Liner.
Kiss Lashes 'Peony' - Trimmed.

(Lipstick was Sleek Matte Me lipstick in Fired Up.)

I really love how this look turned out, but you could be more adventurous and make the tentacles go further down your face. I also think that would look really awesome!
I tried to add more tentacles however, it didn't quite look right for me. Maybe you could try and master this. I just couldn't get it to look good.

I hope you guys also loved this look and If you want to read the other #BeautiesOnFire posts click HERE and it will take you to Elisabeth's post where you can also find the link up. Leave a comment and tell me which 'Villain' scared you as a child, I'd love to know!

August Favourites!

Hey guys,

How is it already September?! Seriously though, I feel like I haven't had nearly enough time off. Please can I just stay at home and not go back to college? Thanks.

Anyway, in this post I will tell you a few things that I have loved through the month of August. Which, isn't actually a lot. I just haven't tried anything new out this month really.

Okay we have to start with food right?
These past couple of weeks, my mum and I pick up the pickled onion monster much multipacks. And I cant stop eating them! Even when my sister and her fiancé come round to visit, even they cant resist. They will always be a favourite though, but it still counts. And yes they stink,  but they taste so damn good!

Onto music. Okay, I admit. I do quite like Justin Bieber's new songs (Cold Water and Let Me Love You). Because I love to do my makeup and take my time, I always have music on. And these have definitely been played. Also Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's 'Side To Side' has also been popping up as they have finally released a music video for this. I love this song and it is one of many that I love from Ari's album 'Dangerous Woman'. If you want to see/hear what else I have been loving check out my playlist on Spotify (HERE), the ones towards the bottom are obviously more recent.

My favourite app for this month has been a favourite for a good while now. I am trying to catch up with my mum but I just cant! 'Best Fiends' is so addictive. Sometimes when its more of a difficult level you will probably avoid the app but then once you pass the level, you will be addicted again. Did that make sense? Who knows, but I like it. Its also free to download which is a plus:)).

For TV shows, It has to be Pretty Little Liars. I have been re-watching but the most recent episodes are so good! The season finale was intense! So, so much happened and it was fab. The only thing I didn't really like was that it was so predictable for Mary Drake to be Spencer's mum. But still, The best episode yet!

My makeup Favourite has to be the Sleek 'Solstice' highlighting palette. I have been using this all the time! I love looking like a glazed donut, I know that's not some peoples jam (haha) but it sure is mine. And I have recently discovered that it is better if you use the cream shade first and them one of the powders. I wish I had found this earlier! #GlazedDonutsAreFab.

Old photo but oh well.

I think that's everything to be honest. I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe found something you like the sound of. See you on Thursday with another beauties on fire post, If you want to read the previous post click here.

The 7 Deadly Sins: Beauties On Fire!

Hey guys,

I know, I know. This post is late... I am deeply sorry. The poll on twitter was voted as '7 deadly sins' to be our next theme so here it is! If you want to read the previous #BeautiesOnFire posts, here are the links:

So this weeks theme I actually had to research because I didn't even know what the seven deadly sins are. Is that bad? I don't know. Just so you all know too, the seven deadly sins are: pride, covetousness, lust, anger, gluttony, envy, and sloth.

And for my look I decided to focus on 'Anger' and 'Lust'. Because, in my eyes both of these relate to the colour red. And I guess, in some situations, can be related anyway. Now, as I don't actually have a red eyeshadow (which I have never really seen?!) I have decided to use more of a deep red, almost purple shade. Which I think still works well.

What I used on my eyes:
Maybelline lash sensational mascara
soap and glory super cat eyeliner
kiss lashes (trimmed - not well!) - Peony
Makeup Revolution 'Flawless' Palette (Night shade)
Makeup Revolution 'Eyes Like Angles' Palette (Sophisticated Pink shade)

This eye look isn't super neat but you cant tell so its all good. I guess you do what suits you. Personally I prefer it neat but I was really trying to get this up as soon as I could haha!  Anyway, this is super easy to recreate and I hope you guys try it!

Basically all I did was blend the shade 'Night' into the outer corner of my eye and brought it in slightly. You could always add more if you want but I chose to keep it like this. Because this is such a bold colour, it is better to have a base shade on (close to the colour of your skin), as this will help the other shades blend better.

Then in the inner/centre parts of my lid I used the shade 'Sophisticated Pink' and blended this out and also into where the black was. Obviously we want a nice transition from the two colours.

I also forgot to bring the black under my lower lash line but this is optional I guess. Also forgot to add mascara to my lower lashes, oops! I have been doing this a lot lately and I don't know why haha!

Then I added a simple wing to the look which to me, makes it look more 'fierce' if you will. Then added my mascara and some lases. These lashes were so long that I had to trim them, but I didn't really do a good job. At least I tried I guess. I must say that the more I wore these, the more I liked them. But, they are optional.

Again, I forgot to do anything with with my lower lash line, but I would've lined my waterline with a white eyeliner and added some mascara. Maybe brought the black down and smoked it out, however that would probably be too dark for me.

I tried this look with two lip choices: Nyx Wicked lippies in 'Cold Hearted' and Nyx Lingerie 'Beauty Mark' . Personally I preferred the brown look but that could be because I just genuinely don't really like the Wicked lippies. They're just not my thing. I prefer something that I know will stay where it is. But I'm sure a red lip would also suit this look nicely.

That's basically it. I did the rest of my face and then that's that. I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Its not my best but like I said, I am trying my hardest to get this uploaded! Maybe you even learned about the seven deadly sins, who knows.

I love you all.
